North West Vietnam Motorcycle Tours – 8 Days Enduro Riding

This 8 days off-road riding program is considered as one of the best tours that we could offer to our customers. Yes you need to be an experienced rider to come with us on this tour. The trip promises to bring full of incredible scenery, awesome dirt-roads and windy tracks and also a great balance and combination between challenge and relaxation. Every destinations in this tour will make you surprised because of their own beauty. From tea plantation in Moc Chau to fantastic terraced rice fields in Mu Cang Chai, sea of cloud in Sapa and majestic mountains stretching till the horizon, oh, you will feel free like a bird when joining this program of ADV Motorcycle Tours & Dirtbike Travel.

The program will be extended by one more day for Sapa town on request.

  • Experienced tour guide on motorcycle (dirt bike);
  • Dirt bike Honda XR250L or/and Honda CRFL250L or/and Yamaha WR250R with mandatory insurance;

  • Standard hotel (double, twins or triple shared room) and/or homestay (sleeping bags, mosquito nets, sheets, pillows…are provided);

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY

Day 1: Hanoi – Muong Waterfall

It is a difficult but so exciting start to be out of Hanoi chaotic traffics and head to the Northwest mountainous region. It’s such a beautiful day to ride through jungle, cross river and sometimes in stream bed. After the first hard day, you have a chance to sink in the cool waterfall in National Reserve Park and stay with local in stilt house near dreamlike spring.

Day 2: Muong Waterfall – Moc Chau Plateau

Wake up in the early morning with babble of brook and sound of births everywhere. We will be on the saddle again to pass 50km dirt-road before lunch time at the valley Mai Chau where located by White Thai people. Leaving Mai Chau, we will continue riding on the road of the old National Highway No.6, it used to be a North West main road in the ’80s and has been forgotten for several years. After 50km dirt-road along Da River, the next stop is Moc Chau plateau and overnight there.

Day 3: Moc Chau Plateau – Bac Yen Town

It’s an exciting day waiting for you ahead.

After breakfast we’ll travel around Moc chau highland to wallow in its beautiful nature. Then, get out the main road and we will turn off the track, which will make you extremely excited with gravel stone, mud, sheer cliffs, deep abyss, spring buffalos wallow in mires along the path… the route will go through Tan Su where resided by Black H’mong tribe. This day will be the time for you to do some exercises and show your riding skill on excited off-road track.

In the evening, we will have a rest in Bac Yen town after an active day.

Day 4: Bac Yen Town – Ngoc Chien Hot Water Spring

Hope that the weather would be nice at least one week before we embark on these roads. With the distance of only 140km but 80% off-road, today is for sure, a long day and also a real challenge to all riders. You will pass through the villages of Tay, Thai, Red Dao with custom features and friendliness and overcome dangerous long streams, steep slopes, and too slippery with mud, and stone. You will have picnic lunch on the way.

With great effort of all riders, hope that we will reach Bac Yen before dark.

Day 5: Ngoc Chien – Mu Cang Chai Terraced Rice Fields

Pray to the God for the weather to coordinating at least one week before we embark on these roads. With the distance of only 190km but 50% of distance is dirt road, today is for sure, a long day and also a real challenge to all riders. All time you have to overcome dangerous long streams, steep slopes, and too slippery with mud, and stone in the jungle. With great effort of all riders, hope that we will reach Mu Cang Chai terraced fields before dark.

Day 6: Mu Cang Chai Terraced Rice Fields – Sapa

After 5 days of conquering hard terrain, today will be an easy day for you to recover yourself. The not long but steep and winding with exotic natural scene road from Mu Cang Chai to Sapa will stop your wheels at any time for the beautiful picture shoots. After lunch, you will feel the temperature changes suddenly when passing O Qui Ho, the highest pass in Vietnam which connects Lai Chau province and Lao Cai province.

Have lunch and feel free to discover Sapa by yourself.

Day 7: Sapa – Thac Ba Lake

Wake up and enjoy fresh air of Northwest forest mountain. Say goodbye to the friendly hosts, we ride along the muddy footpath to Pho Lu. After luch, we continue riding on the National Highway No.70 to Thac Ba lake, a beautiful hydroelectric reservoir in the North of Vietnam to enjoy the stunning view of sunset from the lake.

Stay overnight in home stay.

Day 8: Thac Ba Lake – Hanoi

After breakfast we cruise southeast on Highway 2 and then branch off to the peaceful town of Phu Tho. We follow the edge of the Red River along the dike, almost to the point where it merges with the Black River then flow together to reach the ocean. By now we are very much in the lowlands of the Red River delta and the north main agricultural area. Crossing the Black River via the bridge, we pass through Son Tay and then return to Hanoi on the highway.
