You may travel to Moc Chau by motorcycle or car. Normally, people like motorcycles because the distance is quite near. Travelling by motors enables you to comfortably watch and photograph the roadside scenery. If moving by passenger car, you can either choose those to Son La or Dien Bien and go off at town district (the largest center) and farm towns that are differentiated by an intersection. Passenger cars mainly travel through the district town, barely any cars pass through farm towns, thus pay attention to your reservation and choose an appropriate route.
If travelling by motorcycles, you might follow two routes. Most people go along the new Highway No. 6 from Hanoi center to Moc Chau district center of about 187km. This passage is very beautiful, by one side, it is rock and the other side is cliff. You can see stilt houses on both sides of the road, the hazy clouds blanket peaks, the valley of the abyss or orchid market, corn, forest products, and a lot of landscape typical for Northwestern land. The 2nd route that backpackers often choose is the Van Yen ferry dock – Thu Cuc – Thanh Son (Phu Tho) – Phong Chau – Trung Ha Bridge and then back to Highway No. 32. This road passes through Van Yen ferry dock dazzling beautiful landscape like mountains, rivers, clouds, etc.
You might spend somtimes to visit Pa Co village 15 km from the highway which is a very beautifully retreated in a valley with beautiful plum orchards.Long Luong village 20km to Moc Chau farm adorned with cherry plum flowers and Ba Phach cauliflower garden, one of the largest and most beautiful field in Moc Chau. In Ang village, you have the opportunity to experience the unique culture of Thai people.
On the road leading to Long Sap border gate through more than 30km , tourists will be impressed with Dai Yem, the two-story waterfall pouring day and night, soft like silk stripe suspended on the mountain greens.The track into Ban On five caves passes through many flower beds. On the way take pictures with the S-shaped road on the tea hill and heart shape amidst the hill. Five cave is located nearly 20 km from Moc Chau town.
Moc Chau is not only allured by its scenic view but also by the original specialties such as marinated rare fried veal, stream fish, wild boar, mixed horse meat, bamboo rice, the national dishes of Thai tribe, docynia indica wine and corn wine with flagrant taste.
